Courthouse Cafe gets new owner

The lease will not be officially transferred until tomorrow afternoon and the item still has to go before the Board of Supervisors for formal approval but the Courthouse Cafe on the third floor of the Courthouse has a new owner.

Chris, who is taking over the cafe from Jeannie Fleek, has restaurant and management background and he is local. He has already spent time in the cafe checking out what the daily nuances and challenges of feeding hungry regulars and courthouse vistors present.

Jeannie had a few people interested but she took her time to find the right fit. I got to meet Chris a couple of months ago and chatted with him during a busy lunch hour.

He decided to buy the cafe after sitting through a hectic lunch hour which was busier than usual with jurors from two trial; I think he will be just fine.
