Richard Dean, Hoopa teen charged with stabbing, has preliminary for September 27 vacated




Criminal proceedings had been suspended for Richard Dean, the Hoopa teen charged with the stabbing of the 52 year old in Arcata in January 2016. In May 2016, Dean was admitted to Napa State Hospital. In March 2017, after a six month review, Dean was awarded a certificate of mental competency.
His preliminary was set for September 27. Intervention for September 25. Both were vacated. Setting for dates is on October 19.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting the case. Deputy Public Defender Kelly Neel is representing Dean.

  2. huh? boot back home? who's doing that?
    i believe this guy will be in jail until his hearing and probably throughout his trial for the stabbing.
