Kailan Meserve continues the torture for his victims by dragging on the appeal of his verdict

Kailan Meserve had a status conference scheduled today. He is still in prison and has filed an appeal.

Meserve is the petitioner, David Davey is the Respondent and the People are the real party of interest in a writ of habeaus corpus and a ruling had been scheduled this morning in Courtroom 5.

Here is the link to one of Meserve's appeals.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer was present for the People. Meserve's attorney Johnnie Griffin was not present.

Ms. Schaffer told Visiting Judge Carter that she had spoken with Mr. Griffin and he had agreed that she could speak with the judge ex parte." "This is about a complex discovery issue and for continuity" asked for a continuance  when Judge Christopher Wilson would be available. Since Mr. Griffin travels from Sacramento, two dates had been given. Today's status date was continued until October 27.

Judge Carter set another date of October 11. She told Ms. Schaffer today, "there has been a timeline set" and that both attorneys needed to submit briefs by October 4 to see if a determination can be made about an evidentiary hearing. That ruling is scheduled for October 11.

Except for the verdict, no other media covered this case since it's beginning and in it's entirety. No other media was in court today either.

  3. I haven't read about any of his supporters lately, roaming around Petrolia proselytizing his innocence and how we're all just a bunch of rubes to even question his character. ~TMOB
