Red carpet to the entrance of Boys and Girls benefit, "Night of 4,000 stars"

9/25 update from Executive Director Liz Smith; total raised $55,000.


Businesses, community members, elected officials are at 901 Myrtle Avenue for a benefit for the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods.

Supervisor Rex Bohn is the auctioneer.




Rob and Cherie Arkley, Supervisor Virginia Bass and Matthew Owen, Supervisor Ryan Sundberg and family, Eureka City Councilmembers Melinda Ciarabellini and Kim Bergel, Eureka Police Chief Andy Mills is here with his wife Cathy Mills, businesses from New Trend to Hooven and Company have tables, John Fullerton, Chris Kerrigan are just a few of the attendees. Diverse
crowd.

Executive Director Liz Smith is an exemplary example of a leader, particularly for a non-profit. Her speech was very inspiring and informative.

One of the highlights of the evening  was Dalene Zerlang being given the 2016 Lance Madsen Champion for Youth.

As of 8:30 p.m. they had raised over 24, 000 and were still going.
