On
Friday, 07-08-2016 at 7:30 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the
Arcata Police Department assisted the Humboldt County Drug Task Force with a
Humboldt County Superior Court search warrant at a residence located in the 800
block of Wiley Court, Arcata.
When
officers arrived at the residence they set up a perimeter. Officers then
knocked on the front door to announce themselves as law enforcement and they
had a search warrant. Officers then noticed a male suspect later identified as
33 year old, Dustin James Daher climbing onto the roof of the residence.
Officer then made entry into the residence and detained a female inside. The
female was later released with no charges. No other subjects were located
inside of the residence.
Once
inside of the residence officers saw Daher get down off the roof onto a deck
located on the second story of the residence. Officers then attempted to detain
Daher. Officers were aware that Daher had multiple arrest warrants including
one for resisting arrest. Daher was lying on the floor on his stomach with his
hands underneath him next to his waistband.
Officers
attempted to grab Daher’s hands and were giving him verbal command to put his
hands behind his back. Daher refused the officers command and was actively
resisting their attempts to place him into handcuffs. Several Officers had to forcibly place
Daher’s into handcuffs and as he continued to physically resist their commands
to comply with being handcuffed. After Daher was placed into handcuffs he was
transported to a local hospital to be treated for a minor injury he received
during his arrest.
When
officers searched the residence they located methamphetamines, heroin, and a
marijuana butane honey oil lab in the residence.
Daher
was then transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was
booked on the following charges: Resisting arrest, possession of a controlled
substance, possession for sales of a controlled substance, manufacturing of a
controlled substance and local arrest warrants for his arrest. Daher’s bail was
set at $50,000 dollars.
