Humboldt CHP has no information on this incident from yesterday, reached out to HCSO to confirm any other reports
Glenn Kaminsky arrested again, in 2025 by CHP for a DUI
Glenn Steven Kaminsky was arrested by CHP today at 1:10 a.m. for VC23152 (a) DUI and VC23152(b) driving with blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
He has a previous arrest for domestic violence. I followed up and charges were never filed. There is an access denied listing so that it is a confidential case. Other than an unlawful detainer in 2022 in which there was a default judgement and a writ of possession, there is no other case for in Humboldt for Glenn Kaminsky. I covered his wife's case in 2015.
A year later, convicted felon Theodore Nelson booked again on a Ramey warrant , this time for criminal threats, kidnapping, carjacking and probation violation
Last year Theodore Earl Nelson, Sr was arrested by HCSO on a Ramey warrant. Yesterday evening, Theodore Earl Nelson Sr was booked into the Humboldt County jail on a Ramey warrant for 7 felonies; PC 182(a)(1) conspiracy, PC 207(a) kidnapping, PC 29800(a)(1) felon in possession of a firearm, PC 422 criminal threats, PC 245(a)(2) assault with a firearm, PC 215(a) and PC 1203.2(a) probation violation.
The press release and jail log does not list Sr or Jr, until more information is available, hard to tell which Theodore Nelson was arrested in 2024 2025. It was Sr. I had to do extra work. Junior is 31 years old. Sr is 52 years old.
Theodore Earl Nelson Sr has a conviction in a 2024 case with a guilty plea on 10/10/24 and was represented by Ms. Rebecca Linkous. That is the burglary case. He has other previous cases in the system.

Drunk Orange County man repeatedly fired a rifle inside his home, then fired at a police helicopter when deputies responded, now he faces 20 years in federal prison
On Friday, 40 year old Justin Derek Jennings of Laguna Niguel, pleaded guilty to using a semi-automatic rifle to repeatedly shoot at an Orange County Sheriff’s Department helicopter last year from a second-story window at his home. Jennings can now look forward to 20 years in prison.
On March 9, 2024 Jennings was drinking and celebrating his birthday and got angry. Most of his family members left. Jennings removed a rifle from his gun safe, fired inside the home. The rest of the family fled and called law enforcement. When Orange County Sheriff's Department responded with deputies and a police helicopter, drunk Jennings fired at the helipcopter for several minutes. Eventually a deputy got him to surrender.

You don't have to wait until Tuesday for HCSO report to Supervisors about data pertaining to ICE
HCSO says they are in compliance with Humboldt sanctuary ordinance.
I did two related posts May and July reaching out to Sheriff Honsal about DOJ and U.S. Attorney's office federal arrest warrants, response to sanctuary policies and how HCSO is responding.

HCSO releases names of three deputies on leave in Glendale shooting
I had already mentioned deputies were on leave when I first reported on the OIS. I was also the first one to include the suspect's criminal record but I do that with all crime posts regularly and have for 11 years. Of the three deputies, I know two of them from covering the courts and one of them Deputy Eckert was formerly at EPD.

"Mercer Fraser is a big company. They know a lot of people in this County. This is typical bully behavior they are known for"; Mercer Fraser last minute request for TRO against local ranch family denied today with Mercer Fraser making it clear this isn't over
Highway 36, Justin Zabel, Mercer Fraser, a quarry, access to a ranch road owned by the same family for six generations, GR Sundberg all featured in a David vs Goliath court showdown today.
It is the typical Humboldt situation where money, arrogance, entitlement and Mercer Fraser thought they would get their way. Fortunately, for David in this scenario; the lawyer representing them was victorious today.
Randall Davis no longer representing Dwivedi Tower LLC and Anil Dwivedi in Hillsdale Apartment lawsuit
My last post on the lawsuit filed by Janssen Malloy on behalf of two Hillsdale Apartment tenants, Don Swall and Vanessa Vachon, was on July 11, 2025. There is a Case Management Conference on 10/10/25.

Jake Combs homicide case continued but the bigger news is that he picked up a new 2025 case for possession of meth in jail and has special allegation of a prior felony conviction
Jake Combs 2022 homicide case which was sent back to Humboldt Superior Court after his murder conviction was overturned on appeal had trial confirmation scheduled today. Judge Kaleb Cockrum granted Public Defender Luke Brownfield's motion to continue the jury trial which was scheduled for 8/18 over Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm's objection. Trial setting is scheduled for 9/16.
The bigger news is that Combs has a new 2025 case he was arraigned on yesterday on Count 1 for possession of meth in jail. There is also a special allegation for prior conviction for serious and violent felony.
No sirens but three EPD vehicles just drove past Clark and E
Saw three EPD vehicles between 8:57 & 8:58 go past while I was walking on Clark and E. No sirens but I reached out to EPD PIO Laura Montagna. Due to the type of call it is which is a special category, she checked with Commander Leonard LaFrance and responded, "It's an ongoing investigation and there will be more information coming in a press release."
At 3:06 p.m., 3:08 p.m. and 3:10 p.m. again three EPD cars driving along Clark and E.
In 2022, I reported on Sergio Frias; he was arrested by EPD yesterday for sex crimes involving a minor
I reported on convicted felon Sergio Antonio Frias in 2022. That post has court records on other cases he had in Humboldt Superior Court. Since my post in 2022, Frias has 6 more cases; one in 2023 and five in 2024. Some of the 2024 cases were dismissed by the DA as a part of a plea in 2024. He has a conviction and plea in 2023, conviction in 2022 DUI case.
https://johnchiv.blogspot.com/2022/09/with-one-open-case-sergio-frias-hasnt.html?m=1
All my hard work in getting booking photos helps now since the Ninth Circuit's ruling has hampered public safety and law enforcement administration in Humboldt is extra cautious.
21 year old Frias was arrested again yesterday by Eureka Police Department on a Ramey warrant requested by EPD for PC 287(c)(2)(c) forcible oral copulation of a minor, PC 261.5(c) unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, PC 272(a)(1) contributing to delinquency of a minor and PC 261(a)(2) rape by force or fear of great bodily injury.
