Trees were destroyed so PG & E and Redwood Coast Energy Authority can tell us we have the power to choose?

Thank you PG & E and Redwood Coast Energy Authority for wasting paper on a basic concept of capitalism.

The suspect who shot five soldiers today in Georgia was previously arrested for a DUI

The man apprehened for shooting five soldiers at Fort Stewart in Georgia this morning is  Quornelius Radford.

The booking photo is from the Liberty County Sheriff's Office from May 18, 2025 when Radford was arrested for a DUI.

Army titles are for heroes. I refuse to use one for a criminal suspect who is not worthy of the uniform or the respect I have for brave men and women who serve our country.

This was a statement released earlier this morning by the U.S. Army.

"The settlement agreement is good news for Goleta, its surrounding communities, and all of California. There is simply no denying that we need more affordable housing up and down our state — every new unit that we can bring online matters. My office argued that Goleta acted unlawfully by refusing to process the application for this Builder's Remedy project, the Santa Barbara County Superior Court agreed with us, and now, the application is finally moving forward."

The settlement agreement is good news for Goleta, its surrounding communities, and all of California. There is simply no denying that we need more affordable housing up and down our state — every new unit that we can bring online matters,” said Attorney General Bonta. “The settlement agreement is also good news for the rule of law. My office argued that Goleta acted unlawfully by refusing to process the application for this Builder's Remedy project, the Santa Barbara County Superior Court agreed with us, and now, the application is finally moving forward. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.” --Califirnia Attorney General Rob Bonta.

Since AG Rob Bonta weighed in on the local lawsuits filed against City of Eureka by the Making Parking Lots Great Again crowd aka Citizens for a Better Eureka and Eureka Housing for All, I tagged AG Bonta and the City of Eureka in a tweet. I also checked Humboldt Superior Court yesterday on the five lawsuits; two which the City of Eureka prevailed on appeal. Despite the statement by CBE and EHA spokesperson Gail Rymer in my last post update, there has been no movement on the five local lawsuits, including the three in which CBE withdrew the preliminary injunction in February 2024.

X accounts reporting detention and arrests this morning at a LA Home Depot

No official reports on ICE, Homeland Security or FBI but starting in the last hour, videos and footage of people being detained or arrested at a Los Angeles Home Depot on ICE. 16 detentions is an official number as of 8:50 a.m.

The image above is from a video shared by many accounts has not been attributed to anyone.

Two weeks after the DA did not file charges, local attorney Callie Buck is back in custody again for violating a protective order

Two weeks after DA rejected the recent arrest report for local attorney Callie Buck domestic violence arrest, she was arrested again by HCSO last night for  PC 273.6(a), violation of a protective order. Bail is $25,000.

Based on her history and frequent arrests, is another Sean Lundy and Analia Martinez? Law enforcement resources keep being wasted on people who repeatedly ignore court orders. In Humboldt, there are zero consequences for violating a court order, just as there are for sex offenders who fail to register. Buck is an attorney and she is thumbing her nose at a court order? And the mental health diversion bs for repeat offenders is overused in Humboldt and does not keep the public or the alleged victims safe.

I have previously covered local attorney Callie Buck's court cases. The last arrest by HCSO for PC 273.5 (a) domestic and PC 1203.2(a) probation violation was the one the DA rejected and did not file charges for and here she is in custody again. Unofficially, I was told that the alleged victim for the July arrest was her boyfriend but since no charges were filed; that could not be confirmed. That tip came from someone with direct knowledge about Buck.

I received a second tip about Buck's boyfriend with some court records provided. I have lookef up more court records myself.

"Here is a tip for you. Ms. Buck's boyfriend is Daniel Dowd, who also got arrested last night for a DV. Mr. Dowd is also her client in a child custody case. Buck also represented Dowd in a Civil Harassment case."

"I''ll be back" Arnold says he will campaign against "Nepo Newsom's" redistricting plan for California

Former California Governor and Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger is speaking up against California Governor Gavin Newsom effort to redistrict California and is prepared to campaign against "Nepo Newsom."

I don't know who came up with "Nepo Newsom" it has been used by several people on X including President Donald Trump's spokesperson Steven Cheung.

VOMR Inc. sued Ming Tree, Larry Doss and Cassandra Doss; VOMR's Danville lawyer failed to appear in court and on a consistent basis has lost to Humboldt's Allison Jackson

(Allison Jackson Harland Law Firm website)

I met Ms. Allison Jackson in 2004. That was a year after I moved to Humboldt. Former Humboldt Deputy District Attorney Worth Dikeman was running for D.A. I have known Ms. Jackson for 20 years and followed her career and there are too many victories to mention. Since I started the blog, I got an opportunity to see Ms. Jackson and her law partners in court.

Search the Magney case on my blog which I was the first one to report on and it eventually made national headlines.

Yesterday, I saw a 2025 civil lawsuit on calendar VOMR, INC. VS. Ming Tree, INC., Larry Doss & Cassandra Doss. The case is transfer in from Sonoma County Superior Court.

VOMR, Inc.'s 15 allegations included breach of contract, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, fraud, neligent misrepresentation.

The lawsuit was filed in March 2025. There was a request for dismissal filed by Ms. Jones on 6/29/24 in Sonoma Superior Court. There was a motion filed by Ms. Jackson and an order granting change of venue requested by Ms. Jackson which was signed on August 6, 2024. Ms. Jackson addressed the dismissal. There was a writ of execution filed by Ms. Jackson. There was an order to show cause against VOMR Inc. in 2024 in Sonoma Superior Court.

VOMR, Inc. is represented by Danville lawyer Ms. Shannon Jones. Ming Tree, Larry and Cassandra Doss by local Harland Law Firm partner Ms. Allison Jackson who is also a former Humboldt Deputy District Attorney.

At yesterday Case Management Conference, there was no appearance by Ms. Jones, Ms. Allison Jackson addressed the court. There is a hearing on 10/3 for Order to Show Cause; failure to appear and failure to prosecute. No dismissal had been filed.

The smartest decision Larry and Cassandra Doss made is to hire Ms. Jackson.

Santa Rosa Diocese Bishop Robert Vasa declaration in State of CA vs St. Joseph Providence lawsuit says he is "responsible for assuring the Catholicity" of the Catholic entities operating "within my Diocese"; St. Joe's attorneys withdraw as counsel

On 8/4, there was  a motion hearing to enforce in the People of the State of California vs St. Joseph. It was continued by stipulation.

On 8/4/25, the motion to withdraw as counsel by attorneys representing St. Joe's was granted by Judge Canning. Since my last post, several documents were filed including a declaration by Santa Rosa Diocese Bishop Robert Vasa in support of motion to modify. He is one of the most conservative U.S. bishops.

On 8/29, there is a hearing on the motion to modify e stipulation and a hearing on the motion to enforce stipulation & order.

HCSO arrests two repeat offenders for conspiracy and several others charges; third suspect identified, all within hours of responding and investigation

On August 1, 2025, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol deputies initiated an investigation into a theft from a vehicle reported in the 200 block of F Street, Blue Lake, occurring the previous night.

Besides indulging Curt Davis' insatiable need for attention; what did RHBB second "article" achieve?

If you have not read my previous posts on former City of Eureka Deputy City Attorney Curtis Davis, you should. I have consistently reported first and with court records on Davis' abrupt departure. I was also the first to report on the Fusion Smoke and Glass lawsuit.

Both the July 10 and 23 posts go into details why I did not report certain claims by Davis and why I did not report Davis' vague allegations. Davis' consistent, repeated  failure to give me a written response speaks volumes as does the fact that he has still not filed a lawsuit and why he has lost any request for confidentiality.

I chose not to report on what Davis shared including an outrageous claim Davis made about City of Eureka Manager Miles Slattery and local businessman Rob Arkley allegedly hanging out together. Davis did not provide any evidence and I have known both Miles and Rob for two decades and seen them at social events and observed them out and about in town. While I might have believed that Miles was at a certain place; that is not somewhere Rob Arkley would ever go. Davis' claim was so ridiculous, I had to contain my laughter. I have never shied away from valid news or standing up to power but I will not be used and I am not going to publish claims without evidence.

RHBB and Ryan Hutson did not publish Davis' anecdote about Miles and Rob. They conveniently regurgitated Davis' claims about the City of Eureka because there is zero risk and they know by law, the City of Eureka is limited in what they can say.

I do know about some of Davis' behavior at City of Eureka including what he alluded to and admitted to and claims he apologized for to RHBB. Unfortunately no one is going to go on record due to the law. I reported on the Fusion and Smoke lawsuit which is based on court records; not RHBB regurgitating Davis' claims with no evidence. Curtis has a way of making everything about him which distracts from actual newsworthy content. He was only at the City of Eureka for 6 months.

RHBB and Ryan Hutson chose to share a court document with a cover page listing a minor and mentioning Eureka Councilmember Renee Contreras- DeLoach . I knew about that lawsuit. I certainly would not cover it for Davis' agenda. It is newsworthy on its own because of Eureka City Schools and how they address bullying .

RHBB  irresponsibly chose to print  a minor's name with that one page of a court document which did nothing to help anyone other than Davis' instiable need for attention. What exactly did putting this minor's name out there achieve?

Ilegal encampments and trespassing on private property in Redway cause of Wildland fire

On July 26, 2025, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol deputies assisted numerous fire agencies with the “RedFire” which occurred in a wooded area just northeast of the town of Redway.

FBI LA arrested Mark Lorenzo Villanueva today for sending 12 payments over five months to ISIS

FBI Los Angeles arrested Mark Lorenzo Villanueva today. The U.S. Attorney's Office, Central District of California provided more  details.

"The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office remains steadfast in its efforts to disrupt the distribution of illicit narcotics, particularly fentanyl, which poses a severe threat to public safety. HCSO notes that under current California law, possession of fentanyl is often classified as a “non-violent” offense, which can result in repeat offenders being released from jail by Superior Court Judges to appear in court at a future date and time. "

HCSO just issued a press release on two arrests.

If Aaron Stott's name sounds familiar, this is from April 2025.

CA DOJ concludes no criminal charges in Riverside County Sheriff's OIS shooting but makes five policy recommendations

California Attorney General Rob Bonta's office issued a press release just now on the officer involved shooting in the death of Jay Jackson. The OIS involved an officer from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The CA DOJ concluded criminal charges were not appropriate in this case but made five policy recommendations.

"On July 22, 2022, shortly after 11:00 AM, Jay Jackson entered an O’Reilly Auto Parts store in Moreno Valley and told employees that he was armed with a gun and planned to kill someone. Store staff locked the doors and called 911. When deputies arrived, Mr. Jackson was pacing in the parking lot with his right hand in his pocket. Law enforcement surrounded Mr. Jackson using patrol vehicles for cover and attempted to de-escalate the situation. They issued numerous commands for him to show his hands and assured him they did not want to hurt him, offering access to mental health and medical services. Mr. Jackson, refused to comply. According to statements, he told deputies he had a gun and shouted things such as “just kill me” and “I’m not going to listen.” He quickly advanced toward a deputy while pulling a shiny metallic object from his pocket and lowering his arms in a threatening motion. One of the deputies fired a single shotgun round, striking Mr. Jackson in the chest. He was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The object was later determined to be a metallic razor handle without a blade."

This is what law enforcement has to deal with in California and Humboldt. Policies don't help when CA laws & legislators do not support law enforcement or public safety.

Natasha Bussell arrested by HCSO for torture, false imprisonment, aggravated battery and two other charges

Natasha Deanne Bussell was arrested by HCSO yesterday for PC 206 torture , PC 243(d) aggravated battery , PC 236 false imprisonment, PC 148 (a) 1 resisting arrest and PC 591.5 damaging a communication device to prevent someone from calling 911 or for help. Bail is $750,000.

I contacted HCSO Lt. Jesse Taylor and confirmed the location of arrest is Willow Creek. Anyone can google Bussell and see previous Humboldt coverage on family members and Bussell;  whether any of that is connected to this arrest, stay tuned.
