Anthony Lee Hamilton charged with the murder of Jennika Lee Suazo
For a long time, I was the only one who did any follow up to this 2016 homicide. This January, I reported EPD had a solid lead. In my Dec 11, 2016 post,I reported her mother's boyfriend, Anthony Hamilton murdered her.
Today EPD released this update. No booking photo provided by EPD. EPD Crime Analyst Brittany Powell responded to me, "EPD did not have any current booking photos of Hamilton to release. The most recent in our system was an arrest by HCSO about 4 years ago. I can ask for their permission tomorrow to use it."
I had been given a tip last year about Anthony Hamilton and his connection to Del Norte and that guy being in prison.

EPD Detectives would not confirm and release that tip or other information and so the PIO can only do so much. I followed up on that connection, again, today and no response to that specific information.
This is a 2014 booking photo of Anthony Hamilton when he stole a car from a Eureka dealership and rammed a patrol car.
From the start, it has been like pulling teeth to get EPD to release information on this case. It is not the PIO's fault; it is the detectives, EPD administration and the police chief. There was no reason this case had to take 5 years to solve. Hamilton is a dangerous criminal who could have been off the streets.

One lawsuit is against Ian Hoffman and one lawsuit incorrectly listed on BOS agenda
I referred to a couple of lawsuits in my December 4 post. Here is more information on two other lawsuits listed under closed session for tomorrow's meeting.
Why was this convicted sex offender released when he had already been charged with battery?
Joseph Arthur Titus was booked on October 16 for failure to register as a sex offender and released on O.R. Titus has not been charged for this arrest.
Titus already had a complaint filed for alleged battery on October 8 and was arraigned on that case on October 27. Titus has a previous conviction in 2015 for child endangerment and several probation violations.

An attorney from a law firm represented Trevor Bohn; now the same law firm is representing NEC?
Jeff Slack and David Nims are both attorneys with the Janssen Malloy Firm.
One potential lawsuit and four existing lawsuits to be discussed during the next Humboldt Board of Supervisors closed session. Two of those lawsuits are from the North Coast Environmental Center. The constant litigation and cost to taxpayers is a concern. The bigger story is the conflicts of interests overlooked when convenient and agenda behind these lawsuits.

I reported on the City Hall burglary and the suspect the day it happened
I reported on the burglary with specifics and who the suspect was with a booking photo on November 29. This press release is four days old. The City didn't even issue a press release the day the arrest happened. They could have followed up with details of what was taken later.

Based on the location of the credit union, that suspect is brazen
There is only one credit union in the 900 block of 4th street. The Northern Redwood Federal Credit Union in Eureka is across the street from the courthouse and jail.
Motion to continue former Humboldt correctional officer and Central Station shooting suspect Sean Timothy O'Brien's preliminary hearing filed by defense
Defense has filed a motion to continue former Humboldt correctional officer and Central Station shooting suspect Sean Timothy O'Brien's preliminary hearing which is scheduled to be heard this morning.
There is a lot of evidence in the case and still coming in which makes sense, especially given what I previously reported.

APD at the Alibi?
According to "unofficial", 8:16 p.m: Arcata Police Department responding to a call for 415 which is code for disturbing the peace, at the Alibi on 9th Street. Summary should at least get the facts and location right.
In my follow up, the incident was not at the Alibi but in front of it and was related to another incident. Details from APD below.
HCSO raises almost $3,000 for CASA and Wild Souls Ranch
"Another No Shave November is in the books! This year our staff raised almost $3,000, with the funds split to benefit CASA of Humboldt and Wild Souls Ranch. While we know you’re probably sad to say goodbye to these exuberant beards (we know we are), today we're clean shaven and ready to see what December has in store. "
