Last August, I did a post on former Weott Community Services District Julie Santibanez. The DA charged her with Count 1 PC 503 embezzlement and Count 2 PC 530.5 (a) identity theft.
Santibanez' preliminary hearing finally proceeded on 2/7/24. Judge Kaleb Cockrum held her to answer to Count 1; not held to answer to Count 2. Defense motion for PC 17 (b) which reduces a felony to a misdemeanor was made by Mr. Michael Acosta and denied by Judge Cockrum. Deputy DA Alexander Grotewohl was the prosecutor for the preliminary hearing. Arraignment on information is on 2/21.
Yet another court case ignored by other local media.
2/21: Trial confirmation on 6/5; jury trial on 6/17.
