Mario Alexander sentenced 188 years to life


Sentencing for Mario Alexander was continued from last week to this morning. On January 24, Alexander was found guilty of 10 counts of child molestation.

Probation recommended 213 years to life; he was sentenced to 188 years to life. Alexander via his attorney said he maintains his innocence and plans to appeal.

The total would have been more but Count 7 will be served as a concurrent term.

Count One 15 years to life
Count 2 15 years to life
Count 3 8 years
Count 4-10 each Count is 25 years to life. The total for these counts would have been 175 years but Count 7 will be served concurrently so the total for these counts is 150.

Alexander has custody credits for 146 actual days. At 15% , he gets good time credits for 156 additional days so total credits are 1,202 days.

Alexander is ineligble for probation.

Alexander has to register as a sex offender and if released on parole, he will be on parole for life.

Probation recommended a 10,000 restitution fine. That was reduced to $2,400.

Jane Doe #2's mother read into record the letter she submitted to the Court as well as a brief statement from Jane Doe #2.

Jane Doe #2's mother thanked "the Courts, the DA" and said "Thank you to the jury for hearing the horrendous truth and rendering justice."

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads. Alexander was represented by Mr. Russ Clanton.

    1. Lol Doug, yes. He only spoke when he was supposed to and did not interrupt the proceedings.
