Glancing at Jon Goldberg a few times during her testimony, Rachel Goldberg wiped away tears during certain parts if her testimony. At other times her voice wavered.
She answered both attorneys with "Yes, Sir." and "No, Sir."
Rachel Goldberg's testified today that Jon Goldberg was a loving husband and a devoted father. He was always by her side or their son David's side.
"He was loving. He never went a day without making sure we had everything we need."
She admitted that they argued and sometimes yelled at each other. That they drank and argued.
She said Jon Goldberg sobbed uncontrollably and was very emotional as he learned of his wife's affair with Tom Smith, the early hours of September 26. There was no physical threat made towards her or Tim Smith.
For the first time today, we learned that this affair was only for a couple of months in 2016. Before that,"we would talk, conversate, text, each other. He would text me to see when I was coming into town."
The affair started with sending each other pictures, "it progressed to a kiss every now and then." It then developed into "hugging and showing physical affection. We ended up being together sexually one time."
Some of the times Tim Smith and she spent alone were when Tim Smith would go hunting and she would leave the property and go meet him.
Rachel Goldberg admitted she sent Tim Smith a picture of her topless from the bed the Goldbergs shared. It was her bare "breasts". "Explicit pictures of my body"
She said Tim Smith sent her a picture "of his private area" when he was "down South" and later clarified "genital area."
At first both couples interacted at school, then Tim Smith started coming over to the Goldberg property and spending time with Jon Goldberg as well as the Goldberg family.
She testified about texts and phone calls on September 26. Today is the first time the jury heard that Tim Smith called Rachel Goldberg from a payphone at Murrish Market telling her that Jessica Springer had kicked him out
Rachel Goldberg also testified that Jessica Springer told her she was going to come up to the Goldber property with one of her sons and that she (Jessica Springer) was going to talk with Jon Goldberg.
She denied hiding from her husband as they passed each other on September 26 as claimed by her friend Frieda Smith. There was no domestic violence. Rachel Goldberg said that she wanted to stay at a hotel that night to give Jon Goldberg "some time to cool down". She denied receiving any phone call from Jon Goldberg as Frieda Smith testified.
