Convicted felon adds to her criminal history

Convicted felon Elizabeth Michelle Hunter was arrested by HCSO yesterday for PC 245 (a) (1) assault with a deadly weapon, PC 422 criminal threats and PC 240 assault.

She has 4 prior cases in the Humboldt Superior Court system. I am still adding on the two domestic violence cases. Restraining order granted against her granted in both cases.

HCSO busy weekend included the arrest of frequently booked Sara Hoyos

Humboldt County Sheriff had a busy weekend including arrests for assault,robbery and asuspect fleeing from law enforcement. Posted below are three press releases from incidents in Willow Creek,Cutten and Mckinleyville.

Sara Hoyos has 47 cases in the Humboldt Superior Court system. All are criminal except one conservatorship case.

Evidence of a collision and same car on two different parts of I street?

 




Did not see this early evening last night. Early a.m. I first saw the parts on 6th and I. Then as I walked towards 5th and I, the car. The wreckage is still there. I have seen EPD this morning just doing regular patrol and responding to other calls.

Staffing issues once again at 5th Street Starbucks


Just 20 minutes ago, the lobby was open at Starbucks on 5th Street in Eureka. The lobby is now closed but drive thru is open. A staff member said they plan to be open tomorrow but if they are, it may just be the drive thru.

Rachel Bowler arrested for DUI

The booking information and photo above is for Rachel Bowler who was arrested by Eureka Police Department yesterday for  VC 23152 (a), VC 23152 (b) which are charges for DUI. She was booked on these charges as a misdemeanor and released on O.R.

Bowler has a prior DUI conviction from 2016.

Felon Cody Christiansen arrested for attempted murder, criminal threats, domestic violence and several other charges

 


Cody Edward Christiansen as arrested yesterday on a Ramey warrant for PC 664/187 (a) attempted murder, PC 273.5 (a) domestic violence, PC 422 criminal threats, PC 136. 1(a) dissuading or intimidating a witness, PC 417 (a) (2) brandishing a weapon or firearm, PC 646.9 (a) stalking and PC 29800 (a)( 1) felon in posession of a firearm.

Phil wants to retire, do you want to take over this business?


Phil Kurtz wants to retire. This laundromat has the best staff and customer service in Eureka. Whoever buys it better keep the positive atmosphere and good quality. I have recommended them to so many people over the years. Wonder if the business includes the Mckinleyville location? I will ask when they reopen July 5.

Short staffing means Siam Orchid only offering to go until July 22

Arroyo, Madrone, Eads, Steward and Dillingham maintain leads in latest report

 



The Fourth election report on the Humboldt County is up on the Humboldt elections website. Natalie Arroyo, Steve Madrone, Steve Steward, Stacey Eads, Cheryl Dillingham maintain their leads in the latest report. Juan Cervantes and Tiffany Hunt Nielsen are in a runoff.  

For the Final cumulative report, the Precinct report and Final canvass report, I will just do a summary, if necessary and add it to this post. The results haven't really changed since the first report.

Cheryl was walking out with Karen and her husband Fernando Paz. There were more flowers.

Nancy Olson is Eureka Chamber's new CEO

The Board of the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the selection of Nancy Olson as the Chamber's new President/CEO, Board Chair Linda Wise announced today. After a careful and detailed search, the Chamber Board of Directors Personnel Committee recommended Nancy Olson to the full Board at its June meeting. She was overwhelmingly approved.  

Humboldt finally announces their pilot program based on Laura's Law

An Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) pilot program for people experiencing mental health crises will launch today, thanks to a partnership with the Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) Behavioral Health Branch and nonprofit Environmental Alternatives (EA).

Anne Elenore Carter was arrested yesterday by EPD for PC 69 resisting an executive officer and PC 647 (f) public intoxication. Bail is $25,000.

Floyd Squires booked for DUI and resisting arrest

Floyd Everett Squires was arrested by Eureka Police Department yesterday for PC148 (a)(1) resisting arrest and VC23152(a) DUI. Squires was released on O.R.
