After 14 years,  Eureka Police Department recently said goodbye to Senior Communications Dispatcher Jennelle Crnich.

Ms. Crnich accepted a position as a Dispatcher with a Silicon Valley area Police Department.

After she enteted a plea, Cervantes was sentenced in 2016 to 365 days in jail and, five years of felony probation, and victim restitution of $95,964, for the crime of embezzlement.

One additional COVID 19 case confirmed today

Humboldt County’s total COVID-19 case count rose to 102 as one additional positive was confirmed today. The means of transmission for this new case is under investigation.

Motion to unseal a jury note and double jeopardy addressed in motion to dismiss in Ray Christie case

I got a little more information on the three defense motions in Ray Christie's case. One is a supplemental motion to clarify a discovery motion. The  motion to dismiss has to do with double jeopardy. There is another motion to unseal Exhibit 3 of the jury note.

Adrian Kamada gone from D. A.'s office?

I heard during court coverage today that Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward was handling all of Mr. Adrian Kamada's cases.

I have reached out to both Mr. Kamada and DA Maggie Fleming. Ms. Fleming confirmed. "That is correct.  Adrian Kamada is no longer employed with the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office."

Christina Lofthouse, a veteran law enforcement officer with two decades of experience at universities, has been named the Interim Chief of Police at Humboldt State University.

Brent Alan Clark arrested by EPD last night for vandalism

Brent Alan Clark was arrested by EPD yesterday at 10:35 p.m. for PC 594 (b) (2) (a), vandalism that is "defacement, damage, or destruction  less than four hundred dollars."

The other person arrested was Olivia Cricket Winfield Perez for PC 405 (a) and posted bail within four hours and is out of custody.

CHP asking public's help regarding collision on 101 south of Barkdull Road

CHP sent out a press release. "This collision happened on 5/29/20 on US 101 south of Barkdull Rd. within a construction zone.  We are asking for help from the public."

Defense motion to dismiss and setting of jury trial for Ray Christie now scheduled for July and August

Trial confirmation for Ray Christie was rescheduled for June 1. At today's hearing, tomorrow's date was vacated. The defense motion to dismiss and and two other motions  were continued to July 16. Setting of jury trial is on August 3.

Will Judge Wilson sentence Maxx Robison to the negotiated disposition or will his final ruling be different?

Sentencing for Maxx Robison was continued to June 1 because Robison wanted to be personally present. This sentencing has been continued and the case has had many delays.
