SSDD at Humboldt courts

Unlike 12 years ago, this is how I feel about Humboldt Superior Court now.

I could save myself so much time because my daily Humboldt court coverage for most of the 20, 30, 40 cases can be summed up by continued by defense, for the same reason for months or continued due to no judge/no courtroom. It has been like this for months and it is clear that Humboldt Superior Court has no intention or plans to fix and reduce this number of continuances. As I have written before, multiple continuances a week for the same case. I check every hearing because I like to provide a timeline of what is happening in a case from arrest to conclusion but it is getting ridiculous and no one gives a damn anymore when cases from 2021 or 2022 are still dragging on years later. My skills and unique court coverage could be used anywhere and I do cover other courts.

When you are being paid by taxpayers; I guess efficiency does not matter. I have had two government jobs; one in Humboldt. So this isn't an opinion; it is an observation of a mentality. You have some employees with a work ethic and they are never rewarded or recognized in a system that is designed on everyone being paid the same regardless of performance.
