DA files second case against convicted felon Tyler Colegrove

Convicted felon Tyler Colegrove already had a preliminary hearing scheduled in one case tomorrow. Now he has two.

I am fairly certain his preliminary hearings will be continued tomorrow.

The new case was filed by the Humboldt County District Attorney on 4/30/26. Count 1 VC2800.4 fleeing a pursuing peace officer's vehicle. Count 2 PC 29180 (a) unlawful manufacture or assembly of a firearm.

Colegrove was arraigned on 5/1. Deputy DA Frankie Olivares appeared on the case for the People. Deputy Conflict Counsel David Nims appointed on this second case by Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge John Feeney who set bail at $25,000 in this case. No OR bail hearing scheduled.Defense reserved right to demurrer.

The screenshots are all the posts I have done so far on Colegrove. The SWAT information is exclusive and not reported anywhere else and not even released by HCSO who never responded to my inquiry.

Tomorrow's update will be added to this post.

5/5/26: Preliminary hearing continued to 5/12 by defense.

5/12/26: Instead of preliminary hearing, Colegrove resolved two cases before Humboldt Superior Court Presiding Judge Kelly Neel.

Deputy DA Candace Myers was in court for the People. Deputy Conflict Counsel RJ Leohner is Colegrove's attorney.

In CR2601772 2 years probation, 180 days in jail, guilty plea to Count 1 fleeing pursuing peace officer and driving against traffic. Count 2 dismissed.

In CR2600975A, robbery and firearm charges dismissed, guilty plea to Coun t 3 assault with a deadly weapon. I have provided court minutes; check for more details because the way it is welritten, I am going to wait until sentencing on 6/3 to make sure information is accurate.
