Before the lunch break, Jessica Springer testified about the fishing trip on September 25, the dinner at La Costa and then later that night when she found the naked photos of Rachel Goldberg on Tim Smith's phone.
Right before lunch break, Springer was sobbing as she testified about the last few moments she saw Tim Smith alive.

"There were some nude photos and strange photos of flowers in her eyes."

"I told him I couldn't trust him," she said referring to Tim Smith. She was yelling and said and "he was defending himself."
Springer said that their younger son, Douglas Smith Jr., had heard Tim Smith and her arguing the night of the 25th.
Springer went to see a friend in Scotia on the 26th and said she tried to get phone records on the 26th to make sure Tim Smith was not lying to her and whether he was still communicating with Rachel Goldberg.
