Michael Acosta says he is appealing the ruling in his EPD traffic case to the Supreme Court

I saw Michael Acosta's name on the court calendar for a traffic case. Usually I do not include citations for traffic cases since they have identifying information but Acosta's address and other identifying information is on several court records and paperwork when he was an attorney and from his criminal case which is public record.

Acosta is charged with driving an unregistered vehicle and no proof of insurance.

The citation lists the owner of the vehicle as Chris Naughton.

Acosta hae a date of 2/25 to pay or appear which he continued once and then chose to have a court trial this afternoon. Court minutes were obviously not up by the time I left the courthouse today but I will follow up and add any additional information, if necessary.

I saw him at at 2:28 leaving from Courtroom 8, asked him how it went and his response was he is filing an appeal with the supreme court.

Locals know Acosta is a former attorney and why he is no longer a lawyer and his conviction.
