Local attorney Bill Bertain found guilty; Mario Avelar had better luck yesterday in front of Judge Canning

There were two court trials yesterday in front of Humboldt Superior Court Assistant Presiding Judge Timothy Canning.

Mario Avelar of Ferndale had an Arcata Police Department citation, AMC 5311 livestock at large. Case was dismissed since APD officer Conan Johnson was not present.

This reason for dismissal was quite frequent. Mario gets stopped frequently. I cannot write about instances where there is no case filed or and there is no arrest.

Local attorney William "Bill" Bertain of Eureka got citation by California Highway Patrol for failure to stop at red light and was found guilty. Bertain has to pay a court fine of $465.

Bill's court trial is not just news because he is an attorney but Humboldt locals know I don't look the other way like local media does for generational Humboldt good ole boys with connections.

Maybe local attorney Ken Bareilles and Bill Bertain and family members who will be pissed at my post could go to confession?
