Hoopa suspects arraigned for 6 felonies and special allegation confirms the tip I got about street gang activity

On Friday, there was a late arraignment for the Hoopa suspects.

Nothing will show up accessible in e court for 15 year old Preston Lee Ruiz II due to his age. Ruiz was also booked into juvenile hall.

William RandolphBilly Warren and Tselin Q Lincoln both are on a no bail status and were arraigned on 3/13. Rees, Conflict Counsel appointed was appointed by Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran for Warren and Public Defender for Lincoln. Both cases are on tomorrow for pre trial and confirmation of counsel. Preliminary examination is on 4/28.

Both are charged with 6 felonies and special allegations for each count which include attempted murder and one of the special allegations in Count 5 confirms what I was told about street gang activity. Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor for the case.

Even though one of the victims has been named on social media and another local outlet named him; I am listing all alleged victims as John Doe, John Doe 1, John Doe 2, John Doe 3. If you looked carefully at the complaint, there is more than one victim. When the amended complaint is filed and as the case progresses, there are 5 alleged victims.

I emailed Humboldt District Attorney Stacey Eads and Deputy DA Roger Rees with some questions and the post will be updated.

3/17/26: Yesterday, the Humboldt District Attorney filed a declaration, an order shortening time and an amended complaint in the Hoopa murder case which is not in e court but will most likely be addressed in court this morning where a pre trial is scheduled and confirmation of counsel for William RandolphBilly Warren and Tselin Q Lincoln. I assume the amendment will include murder or a similar charge.

I just did this post yesterday and was the first one to report on the charges filed against the Hoopa suspects and the only one who reported about the street gang activity charge. I am not going to do multiple posts on this one case every day. I also cover several court cases compared to other media.

Depending on what happens in court this morning, I will add updates on the Facebook page first and then to this post. There has to a reason for me to do a new post. It is up to you to check this post this morning for updates. I have no idea when the case will be called this morning.

3/17/26 8:33 a.m: Still waiting for the courtroom to open. Some family members of defendants are here, they were asking about attorneys, I gave them general information which is public information on the case about courtroom calendar. I have no idea why some of them were speaking with Gregory Kreis.

There were 8 members of the tribe here today. I don't know if all of them were here for the defendants.

Public Defender Luke Brownfield appeared with Lincoln for his office. Discovery and some names were provided yesterday so he asked confirmation of counsel be put over until tomorrow.

So the hearing was put over until tomorrow, there is a change of attorney for Warren. Conflict Counsel has a conflict. Ms. Rebecca Linkous will do a conflict check but tentatively accepted apointment.

The complaint has been amended to charge both with murder with special allegations about street gang activity. The deceased victim's name was erroneously added to the complaint so it will be refiled today. Until it is officially granted by the judge, the complaint and new charges will not be entered in the system.

Tomorrow's hearing update and the amended complaint will also be added to this post. Only Times Standard and I were in court.

Ruiz II was not in court today. I am still waiting on DA Stacey Eads to respond. There is no case for Preston Ruiz II. I checked with both the DA's front desk staff and the court clerk's office. If it is a juvenile case, it is confidential, nothing will appear in e court and the court clerk's information cannot give out information.
