Convicted sex offender and statutory rapist Jared Johnson was sentenced by Humboldt Superior Court Judge Cockrum this morning to 4 years prison and 873 custody credits.
Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer appeared on the case today for Deputy DA Whitney Timm who is the prosecutor for the case. Ms. Timm wrote a letter to the Court and Probation asking for the maximum term of 3 years which would have been doubled to 6 years. Judge Cockrum sentenced Johnson to the mid term of 2 years and that was doubled to 4 years.
Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian is Johnson's attorney.
