On the day of his sentencing, Kreis says Tukatak Nelson is withdrawing his plea

He has two open cases. I have included charges and court minutes from his plea on 3/3/26.

Today, I was in Courtroom 3 covering the John Beideman and Sergio Frias cases. Nelson's cases were on calendar for sentencing. Gregory Kreis represents Nelson. Kreis told Humboldt Superior Court Judge Steven Steward that he will be filing a motion because Nelson is withdrawing his plea.

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm appeared on all cases for the 8:30 calendar except for Frias which is Deputy DA Carolyn Schaffer's case. Ms. Timm's request to set a sentencing date in Nelson's case was granted which is scheduled for May 1.

Nelson has lost weight, has glasses and looks nothing like his booking photo.
