Took this screenshots at 8:50 on 12/8/24. This is an anonymous online forum. I have no way of knowing whether the name signed below is the same person as the person posting and making these claims.
I first tried reaching Cal Poly Humboldt spokesperson Aileen Yoo. She is out of the office so I have forwarded my inquiry as instructed in her auto response email. I have given a deadline for a response. The only reason I contacted CPH was because they deserve a chance to respond, if they wish, to an anonymous, online, unsubstantiated post before it gets circulated by others.
On 12/9, I received this response. "Hi John, Thanks for reaching out. We have received your inquiry and are working on it. Best, Iridian Casarez, Communications Specialist, Marketing & Communications" for CPH.
Later on 12/9, I received this response from CPH sent to me by Ms. Casarez.
"Cal Poly Humboldt’s primary concern is protecting the health and wellbeing of students, faculty, and staff. The University is committed to thoroughly investigating all allegations of misconduct and takes Title IX complaints seriously."The University cannot comment on personnel or Title IX matters. However, if a student, staff, or faculty member wanted to submit a Title IX report, they could submit a report using this link or email a Formal Complaint Form to the Title IX and DHR Prevention Office."
"When the Title IX Office receives a report, it initiates outreach to offer an opportunity for the complainant to meet with staff. Accompanying the outreach communication is a document that outlines their rights and options under the policy as well as the resources available to them. Complainants do not need to respond to this outreach; the office remains available when/if they wish to engage with it."
"An initial meeting is not intended to be a full investigation interview. During this initial meeting, the Title IX Office will seek to determine how the complainant wishes to proceed. Options range from not pursuing a resolution of any kind to pursuing our Formal Complaint process using the link to the form listed above. Supportive measures will be offered to the Complainant at this meeting regardless of whether or not they wish to move forward with a formal complaint."
"One key resource that is highlighted is victim advocacy services provided by our Campus Advocate Team—they are available 24/7, are free, and can serve as a support person for the complainant going through any stage of the process. The Campus Advocate Team can also request supportive measures on behalf of the individual."
"Another resource is the availability of supportive measures—these are designed to help the individual get back to their educational experience. Some examples of supportive measures include moving residence hall rooms, access to counseling, or requests to faculty for classroom accommodations."
Some commenters on Reddit are not mincing words. If the purpose was to investigate or raise awareness, then take steps for it to be investigated by media, an unbiased party and provide evidence for allegations.
I am not a fan of CPH administration but if I had received what is posted above, it would be deleted with no response. No evidence, no way to verify identity; just a bunch of unsubstantiated claims.
These are some of the comments on the Reddit post.
There is a court case in Humboldt Superior Court filed on 4/6/23 by Peter Lehman vs Jacob Lehman FL2300289. There was only one hearing on 4/27/23. Peter Lehman requested a domestic violence restraining order against Jacob Lehman which was granted by Judge Lawrence Killoran on that day. Jacob Lehman was not even present in court on 4/27/23.
