I already gave Humboldt Superior Court Operations Assistant Manager Scott Anderson a shout out in August because it was deserved and once again, he needs to be recognized because in 10 years of covering Humboldt Superior Court, Scott and Brian, who is one of three court techs, are the two most responsive and helpful people.
There was a recent e court update which has screwed up and caused issues for the public computers. It does not happen for court staff or tech because there are different levels of access. Scott and Brian are aware and are working to resolve the problems. With any bureaucracy, their bosses, Stephen and Ms. Kelly Nyberg, are the ones who communicate with the vendor and need to have the software company do the job for which the court pays them.
I have written many times about the challenges of having two public access computers. Scott had mentioned to me a few months ago that he was working on trying to get two more computers. He delivered this week. This will benefit attorneys, bail companies, investigators, other media and the public. Thank you Scott.
While this will not fix the e court issues and the other cumbersome obstacles of covering Humboldt Superior Court and getting court minutes, it is one positive development.
Former Humboldt Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson promised a lot and delivered nothing. She was also CEO during the Joe Hale scandal that led to a conviction and she ignored several issues with former judge Gregory Kreis who was censured by the Commission on Judicial Performance and who resigned as a part of the agreement with CJP and was ousted by the voters. Bartleson was on leave and then suddenly retired. Typical Humboldt. Resign, retire with zero accountability.
