The Grind Cafe in the Humboldt County Courthouse could open as early as next week

Staff has been hired. I spoke with Grind Cafe owner Gabrielle Long this morning. She said, "I am hoping for early next week." She is waiting for some parts for the espresso maker.

The County sent a press release on October 11, after this post was published, saying The Grind will open on October 15.

County Press Release:

The County of Humboldt is excited to announce that The Grind Café will be expanding to the Humboldt County Courthouse on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

This will be the second location of The Grind Café in a county facility, following its successful landing at the California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport (ACV), where it has been serving passengers a warm welcome and farewell since 2022.

At the courthouse, The Grind Café will offer visitors and staff a variety of dining options, including a wide range of coffee and pastries, grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, soups and limited dine-in meals. The menu will also feature child-friendly, vegan and gluten-free options.

"I’m excited to offer a new, convenient and delicious experience for courthouse visitors," said Gabrielle Long, owner of the popular family-owned restaurant A Taste of Bim, Tasty Hub and The Grind Café.

Starting Tuesday, Oct. 15, The Grind Café will be open on the third floor of the Humboldt County Courthouse, located at 825 Fifth St. in Eureka, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
