I thought Shane Campbell aka Juggalo aka Little Red was all done with his current cases so I was surprised to see his name on the court calendar yesterday. There was a fourth case filed on 9/30, the very same day he was sentenced in three other cases. I reported on those resolutions.
"Little Red" attempt to strut in court for the preliminary hearing on October 10 impressed no one. First, Deputy Public Defender Adrian Kamada requested a one day continuance because Campbell's attorney, Deputy Public Defender David Nims was sick.
Deputy DA Trent Timm told Retired Judge John Feeney that if the defense does not request a continuance, the People would because Eureka Police Department Officer Ryan Flowers had been "called away" due to another bomb threat at Eureka High School.
Mr. Timm made a re-offer of a previous offer to resolve the case which was for Campbell to plead guilty to Count 1 conspiracy to commit petty theft with no additional jail time. Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo stepped in, negotiated a better plea deal for "Little Red" conditioned on probation and a Cruz waiver. Count 2 was dismissed. Judge Feeney told Campbell he was granting the Cruz waiver pending sentencing because Campbell had been in custody for 80 days but he was required to follow the law, had to agree to terms and conditions and stay away 20 yards from Old Navy.
Campbell and an accomplice stole $700 to $910 worth of property from Old Navy and took it to the greenbelt area behind Bayshore Mall.
