Four Humboldt County Supervisors approved the request for outside legal counsel for Auditor Karen Paz Dominguez but there was a strong preference that it be someone other than Ms. Cyndi Day Wilson.
This was after County Counsel indicated a potential conflict of interest. The Auditor will be provided a list of attorneys and she can choose the attorney she wants.
The request for counsel was made by the Auditor in response to an investigation. The only one to dissent was Fifth District Supervisor Steve Madrone.
