Newsom recall effort gets first six figure donation

Individual donors have contributed thousands of dollars towards the effort to recall Governor Gavin Newsom. 

Donors include Prov 3:9 LLC, an Irvine-based consulting firm, that gave $500,000. Sequoia Capital's Douglas Leone and his wife Patricia Perkins-Leone contributed almost $100,000. 

The Leone's donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to President Donald Trump and allied Republican groups this last campaign cycle.

Rescue California needs a minimum 1,495,709 valid signatures to recall Newsom; the group says it’s collected appromimately 800,000.

Handling of the pandemic, hypocrisy following his own COVID 19 rules and selective exemptions for certain industries like the entertainment industry while shuttering others like restaurants is fueling discontent and support for the recall.
