William Whipple's sister says her brother is "gone"

William Whipple's preliminary hearing was scheduled for December 14. 

Whipple was charged with Count 1 PC 245 (a) (1), assault with a deadly weapon; a knife and are two special allegations for Count 1.  One is for PC 12022. 7 (a), inflicting great bodily injury and the other for PC 667 (b) -(i),prior serious and violent conviction.

There is a post on Facebook from his sister on Facebook saying "he is gone." 

There is some information about the nature of his death that I  received but have not been able to verify. I reached out to the appropriate authorities.

HCSO PIO Samantha Karges responded to my inquiry.

"On Dec. 11 at about 7:23 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 1400 block of Walker Point Road in Bayside for the report of a possible suicide."

"Deputies arrived at the residence and performed lifesaving efforts on the victim. Sadly, the victim was pronounced deceased soon after."

"The victim was identified by the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office as 31-year-old William Frank Whipple Jr."
