Someone sent me this screenshot earlier today. I asked for information, more context and the post which led to these comments. I went and checked the post. Certain comments are no longer there.
I contacted the person who sent me the screenshot who then said the comments had been deleted.
HACHR choses to send press releases and communicate with select media. I am not wasting any more time to contact Lasara Firefox Allen about comments she or someone else may or may not have deleted on her facebook page. Those who consistently speak out against HACHR and have access to money and lawyers can pursue this further if they want. Maybe the ECLU can take up this cause?
It's Lasara Firefox Allen's Facebook page. Even if she or someone deleted those comments, take such concerns and screenshots to a lawyer and your elected officials. Everything on social media is not news. I am not your advocate or a lawyer. Most people do send me valid news tips and I appreciate those. Those people also value my time.
After my post, the person who sent me the screenshot informed me that ECLU, EPD and others were informed. I have done more than my share to expose HACHR. EPD and Eureka City Council have taken steps. Eureka City Council ignored citizen concerns. It took years of documenting, a few people speaking up and it being brought up in Kim Bergel's failed lawsuit to get this City Council to do anything.
I can't stand HACHR but the City of Eureka needs to be consistent. The City of Eureka Code Enforcement is a complete failure in enforcing code violations. They need to fine slumlords who have nuisance properties where drug use and loitering of addicts and needle use is constant. Code Enforcement keeps wasting EPD time and resources and expect EPD to do their job.
If the city wants tax revenue, reward property owners that keep their properties safe and clean with a tax discount and fine the greedy problem owners.
