Judge Cockrum did not make a ruling of ineffective counsel. There were 8 claims made by Dare. Except for number 8, Judge Cockrum went through the other 7 claims and explained the reasons for his decision.
After the Marsden hearing, Judge Cockrum is going to appoint new counsel for Dare for the limited purpose of only one claim; full discovery not received. That new counsel will be appointed on December 10. Motion for new trial and sentencing is on hold.
A private attorney has to be appointed because Mr. Marek Reavis previously worked for Conflict Counsel and is now the Public Defender.
As usual, Dare is in denial and as he demonstrated during this entire case, ignorant of the law. Most of his claims were addressed in court,they were addressed in pre trial motions and they were addressed during trial.
Judge Cockrum apologized to the victims because now this is the third delay in sentencing.
The one who needs to apologize but will not is Dare. Like every other Humboldt molester and perv, he is unrepentant and defiant and continuing to victimize his stepdaughters by abusing the legal process.
