Couple tested positive for COVID 19 and boarded SFO flight despite being told to quarantine

A couple from Hawaii  who traveled from San Francisco International Airport to Kaua'i were  arrested and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. Bail was $1,000 each.

Wesley Moribe and Courtney Peterson tested positive for COVID 19 during pre-travel screenings prior to their United Airlines flight from SFO. Despite being told to quarantine, they boarded the flight.

Their four year-old child was with them and was released to a family member after Child Protective Services was notified.

The couple are residents of Kaua'i  and are currently in isolation. Contact tracing is being done to alert anyone who needs to go into quarantine.
