Yesterday, U.S. District Judge Paul S. Diamond denied the request by the Trump's campaign to stop the vote count in Philadelphia over observer access. He urged the two sides to work on an agreement.
Judge Diamond suggested each party be allowed 60 observers where the final ballots are being tallied.
Judge Diamond admonished the lawyers as both sides argued about who was following the rules and reminded them they are officers of the court.
"Really, can't we be responsible adults here and reach an agreement?" The whole thing could (soon) be moot."
Yesterday, Michigan Court of Claims Judge Cynthia Stephens dismissed a lawsuit from the Trump campaign regarding the ballot counting in Michigan. The Judge said there is no legal basis or evidence to grant what the campaign's request.
Chatham County Superior Court Judge James Bass dismissed the lawsuit from the Trump campaign. The Trump team claimed about 53 absentee ballots were not part of an original batch of ballots and this was according to some poll observers. County elections officials testified that all 53 ballots had been received on time.
"Having read and considered said petition, all argument and evidence of record, including the evidence presented at the hearing, and the applicable law, the Court finds that there is no evidence that the ballots referenced in the petition were received after 7:00 p.m. on election day, thereby making those ballots invalid. Additionally, there is no evidence that the Chatham County Board of Elections or the Chatham County Board of Registrars has failed to comply with the law."
On ABC News, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said, "We heard nothing today about any evidence. This kind of thing, all it does is inflame without informing. And we cannot permit inflammation without information."
There were two wins for the Trump team on Thursday. An appeals court ordered election officials in Philadelphia to allow campaign observers to get physically closer as they monitored the ballot-counting process. Another Pennsylvania judge ordered state election officials to segregate certain ballots while she considered the campaign’s claims that the state illegally extended the deadline for absentee voters to provide proof of identification.
Today, The Nevada Supreme Court denied a Motion for Stay to stop Clark County from processing mail-in ballots in the appeal filed today by the Nevada Republican Party and Trump campaign. The Court did grant the parties’ motion to expedite the appeal
There is so much misinformation out there and if you are only watching and reading information that feeds into your bias, for your side, you don't have facts.
I have been reading and watching news from a variety of sources. The best analysis and coverage since election night has been on ABC News. It is a good example of live and breaking news. In addition to their news team, they have both Republican and Democrat commenters.
The only issue I have is with George Stephanopoulos. He is a bore and not a journalist. It is bad enough that he cannot hide his partisan views but his dismissiveness of his colleagues and Democrat commenters like Rahm Emmanuel when they are being objective is annoying.
