On November 16, 2023, at trial confirmation, the Humboldt County District Attorney dismissed a homicide case against convicted felon Matthew Gabriel Susmilch.
Yesterday, HCSO arrested Susmilch on a bench warrant for PC 1551(a) fugitive from justice, PC 273.5(a) corporal injury to a spouse/cohabitant and PC 1203.2(a) probation violation.
2/9/26: A bench warrant was issued on 1/26/2024 for probation violation in CR2001247 when Susmilch failed to appear for a domestic violence hearing. The fugitive from justice charge is a no bail warrant from Washington.
2/10/26: Humboldt DA charged Susmilch with one count of PC 1551 (a) fugitive from justice. Today, after the arraignment hearimg, Humboldt Public Defender Luke Brownfield said Susmilch he will be transported back to Washington on his warrant. Susmilch waived extradition. There is a hearing on 2/20 for confirmation of transport.
I covered Susmilch previously in 2018 and 2023.
