Wacky witness has a previous conviction for using computers to commit a crime

Mellissa Carone, a former contractor for Dominion Voting Systems, testified before the Michigan House Oversight Committee about alleged election fraud for the Trump legal team. Her performance resulted in fodder for late night shows and Twitter.

Ben Yahr did a lip sync of Carone's testimony and people are waiting to see what SNL does tonight.

Was her prior conviction a plus for Dominion hiring her?

Carone's original charges were for obscenity and using computers to commit a crime.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office offered her a plea deal for disorderly circumstances. She served a one year probation sentence.

Her boyfriend's ex-wife, Jessica, called police about Carone multiple times between November 2018 and September 2019.  This was after Jessica received three videos from an unknown email address showing Carone and her ex husband having sex. Carone's last name was Wright at that time.

"Police traced the IP address from the emails to Carone, who initially denied sending them but revealed she was aware of their content. Eventually, she confessed to investigators, saying her goal was to send Jessica 'over the top.' She admitted to asking her boyfriend to cover her tracks by getting a new router and internet provider." The boyfriend is now Carone's ex.

Jessica told police Carone violated a personal protection order and texted her. One text made mention of a fake Facebook account.
