GOP vandalism suspect in good spirits before arraignment chatting about NASCAR and coronavirus

Arraignment was scheduled on March 12 at 1:30 for Michael Valls. He was arrested by the Eureka Police Department on February 8 and has been charged with second degree burglary, vandalism of the local GOP office and two counts of resisting/obstructing a police officer.

Conflict Counsel's office was appointed for Valls. Intervention is scheduled for April 27; preliminary hearing for May 4.

Valls arrived early and was outside the courtroom by 1 p.m. He was in good spirits and discussing NASCAR and baseball being cancelled with some guy with a ponytail.  And later, socializing with others waiting outside the courtroom about the coronavirus.

Arraignment just took place a few minutes ago. His  friend  got tired of waiting and left.
