Former County Counsel Jeffrey Blanck and former Deputy Public Defender Rory Kalin have the same attorney Cyndy Day-Wilson. The one allegation both lawsuits claim is discrimination based on Jewish heritage.
Mr. Kalin still has Humboldt County Public Defender's Office listed on his state bar profile. If he has been terminated, maybe time to update the profile.
I reached out to him. I had already contacted the County when I first broke the story about the lawsuit; no response.
Will certain people in the PD's office play favorites and run to Thad Greenson again? Or answer questions from media that will ask them the tough questions?
