"We will work with the DA to safeguard both adult and minor victims in this case"



Trial setting for murder suspect Ronald Loureiro was continued from on March 23 to this morning. Tomorrow, at Loureiro's request, there is a Marsden hearing.

Loureiro withdrew his time waiver today. Trial confirmation is on May 4; jury trial on May 18.

Deputy Conflict Counsel Owen Tipps is Loureiro's attorney. Deputy District Attorney Shelly Small is the prosecutor for the case. Today, Deputy DA Roger Rees appeared in court for the People.

Mr. David Nims was there representing one of the victims. One of the  victims watched the proceedings via livestream. "We will work with the DA to safeguard both adult and minor victims in this case," he said.
