Thank you Judge Steward for ordering Analia Martinez to be placed on an ankle monitor and for listening to the evidence and history provided by the DA and alleged victims who have previously been ignored

Analia Martinez currently has three open cases in Humboldt Superior Court. Most of my readers are familiar with the charges, have followed my coverage and I just did a post on October 12.

On 10/30, Deputy Public Defender Emery Welton made an oral motion to continue trial confirmation get a mental health evaluation for Martinez. People waived written notice. Judge Steven Steward granted Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer's request to place Martinez on an ankle monitor. She is ordered to contact Probation by 5 p.m. on 11/4.

For months, other judges let Martinez off without consequences and complete disregard for public safety despite evidence provided by the DA and alleged victims. If you haven't read previous coverage, let your fingers do the walking to Google, the search feature on my blog or the convenient links provided below.

Thanks to Judge Kaleb Cockrum who denied supervised release and Martinez finally got to spend a few days in jail. Now Judge Steward  ordered her to be put on ankle monitor. Public safety has been addressed and the alleged victims now have an added layer of protection. Time will tell if law enforcement and I can stop wasting our time and resources on one person repeatedly arrested for violating protective orders.

In CR2303506 11/12 date vacated. Readiness Conference on 1/6/25; jury trial on 1/13/25. CR2402981 and CR2301505 trailing
