Final election night report at 1:26 a.m. Same trend.
11/6: I spoke to Humboldt Registrar of Voters, Clerk and Recorder Juan Cervantes this morning. The elections office will be issuing a press release with more information and schedule of reports.
Regarding the national election results, this is one paragraph of other longer comments I made online calling out mainstream media.
"The right wing was defeated in local races because of independent journalism, voters who educate themselves & because the Hollywood elite & clueless media mean nothing to us."
Walking door to door works. As Far as Measure F goes, this is not a victory that belongs to other local media or realhousingforEureka. We all know the few people who spoke up and used their names and local voters who educated themselves and the ones who were brave enough to take on the monied powers to be using their own names will not get credit from petty local people and other local media.
Once again the so called "right wingers" and Yes on F advertised on Lost Coast Outpost, North Coast Journal and other media they call "liberal" and like Larry Doss and Gregory Kreis lost "bigly" in local elections.
Alan Bongio lost in this election. Brian Papstein, owner of KINS, was not reappointed to the Headwaters Fund. The 3-2 vote was a loss for the two local Supervisors who are conservative.
Instead of being depressed about the national election, focus on the national victories that are historic and local victories. Some of you on the left are protected by wealth and your lives will not change. What will you do for those who are struggling and have a reason to be down but are out there making a difference?
