Rory Kalin's attorney filed a motion on 11/18/22 to file a third amended complaint in his lawsuit against Humboldt Superior Court Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis, Public Defender Luke Brownfield, former Public Defender Marek Reavis, Humboldt County Public Defender's Office and the County of Humboldt.
The motion is scheduled as a special set with Mendocino Visiting Judge Ann Moorman for 12/16. The orginal motion was scheduled for December 9 and changed due to the incompetence of defense counsel.
Kalin is represented by the Los Angeles Firm Hershey Law Firm. Initially, Mr. Jonny Hornberger appeared for Kalin. Lately, it has been Mr. Johnny Rundell or Mr. Elias Fakhoury.
From PLAINTIFF RORY KALIN’S NOTICE OF MOTION AND MOTION FOR LEAVE TO FILE A THIRD AMENDED COMPLAINT; MEMORANDUM OF POINTS AND AUTHORITIES; AND DECLARATION OF JOHNNY RUNDELL:
"This motion will be made on the grounds that the filing of this amended complaint is necessitated primarily based on the facts uncovered during the discovery process."
Reavis and Brownfield claim they did not undergo mandatory training from the County.

There is no filing as of today from the defendants. Mr. Patrik Griego who represents Elvine-Kreis responded to me, "I do not intend to file a written response. The proposed amendment does not involve my client."
