On Nov. 17, 2022, at about 10:33 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the Hoopa area conducted a vehicle investigation on the 12500 block of State Highway 96.
Deputies contacted the single occupant of the vehicle, 48-year-old Jimmy Lewis Johnson II, who was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Johnson was taken into custody without incident. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a small amount of suspected fentanyl.
Johnson was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of a controlled substance (HS 11350) and violation of probation (PC 1203.2(a)(2)), in addition to warrant charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales (HS 11351), reckless driving (VC 23103), possession of stolen property (PC 496(a)), petty theft (PC 488), possession of a controlled substance (HS 11377(a)), possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia (HS 11364(a)) and violation of probation (PC 1203.2(a)).
