Opera Alley murder suspect Connor Whited's preliminary hearing was scheduled on March 17. With COVID 19 resulting in emergency closure of the Courts, followed by other changes that did not happen. Today, Whited was on calendar.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer appeared for Deputy Adrian Kamada. Conflict Counsel Supervising Attorney Meagan O'Connell appeared for Deputy Conflict Counsel April Van Dyke. Ms. O'Connell spoke with Whited by phone before his case was called.

Judge Kelly  Neel said, "Given the situation, setting date will be set in mid May to see when this matter can proceed."

"We don't know at this time if the courts can stay open," said Judge Neel. "We hope so."

Setting of preliminary hearing and motion to exclude statements scheduled  for May 13.
