With the Beideman jury trial continued, other trials continued, how will that impact the Marci Kitchen case?

Further trial confirmation for court clerk John Beideman's case was scheduled for June 25. Beideman is charged with alleged molestation of his step-daughter.

While both the People and the defense were ready to confirm the jury date set for July 16, Judge Kaleb Cockrum informed them that that Judges would be available on July 16, to start the trial but four of them would be leaving for Judicial College at the end of July returning on August 6. Visiting Judges are covering courtrooms but this case is lengthy. Not wanting to put the Beideman jury trial "on hiatus", Judge Cockrum suggested resetting the trial at the earliest date possible; August 13.

Ms. Eads informed Judge Cockrum that two cases set for jury trial that Mr.Clanton is involved in also involving potential lifetime sentences are set for trial this Thursday.

One of those cases is a case older than the Beideman case, also involving sex offenses against a child. That case  is the Mario Alexander case. Mr. Clanton is representing Alexander. It was set to go today but was continued by the defense.

Ms. Eads is also the prosecutor in the Marci Kitchen case set for August 20.

She suggested that all of Mr. Clanton's for trial setting be set on Thursday so there is no overlap.

Trial setting for Beideman's case is scheduled for June 28 at 8:30 in Courtroom2.
