Convicted of child porn and he still wants to be a priest?

Monsignor Carlo Capella, a former Holy See envoy to Washington, D.C., was sentenced by a Vatican Court to a five-year prison term for viewing, possessing and distributing child pornography. This marks the first time on record that the Vatican has convicted one of its own former diplomats for such crimes.

The punishment also included a fine of 5,000 euros.

U.S  authorities found 40 to 55 photos, films and Japanese animation on Capella' cellphone and an iCloud and Tumblr account.

Canadian police issued an arrest warrant for Capella, shortly after U.S. authorities had notified the Vatican of the alleged charges in the U.S. Canadian police claimed Capella accessed, possessed and distributed child porn over the Christmas 2016 holiday from a church in Windsor, Ontario using a social networking site that included alleged sexual abuse of children.
