Different information and different numbers on how many arrests and charges were made in connection with the U.S. Capitol riot and violence yesterday. NBC and ABC6 Philadelphia seem to have the most detailed information.
NBC News reported:
The acting U.S. attorney in Washington, Mike Sherwin, says his office has now charged 55 suspects with various offenses, including unlawful entry, assault, theft and weapons charges.
Eight suspects face gun charges. One suspect had a military style semi-automatic rifle and 11 Molotov cocktails.
Sherwin says federal and local investigators — "hundreds of people" — are now searching social media for photos and video clips of suspects engaged in unlawful activity. Those people are being arrested as quickly as possible. Department of Justice expects this search for suspects to last all year.
ABC6 Philadelphia:
D. C police have arrested 68 people and Capitol police arrested another 14. D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department released a list of suspects and alleged crimes. Charges for those arrested include 63 instances of curfew violation, 25 instances of unlawful entry, one instance of crossing a police line, four instances of carrying a pistol without a license and one person arrested on suspicion of defacing public property and assaulting a police officer.
