Sentencing for Carpathian aka Humboldt Superior court clerk John Beideman was scheduled for this morning and he was sentenced to the negotiated term of 16 years in prison. He will be on three years parole after release and have to register as a sex offender for life. Beideman has total credit of 501 days towards his sentence.
In the most bizarre sentencing ever, Judge Kaleb Cockrum stopped Beideman in the middle of his statement. The title of the post is a quote from Judge Cockrum.
"That's enough," said Judge Cockrum. He then asked attorneys to approach.
"I am prepared to proceed to sentencing,"said Judge Cockrum. Addressing Jane Doe and her family, Judge Cockrum said, "I recognize the bravery ot took to come forward. I want you know I understand why you took the plea deal. It gives you control and takes away a month and half long spectacle of a trial."
Beideman took no responsibility, instead blamed the prosecutor, the law, the media, his ex wife and made it about his narcissistic self. His statement only highlighted the pain, truth stated by Jane Doe, her mother and stepfather during their victim impact statements.
"No molestation of any kind happened," said Beideman.
"I refuse to stand up in front of God, this Court and plead guilty," said Beideman.
"I am not a pedophile or molestor."
Beideman entered a no contest plea to continuous sexual abuse of a minor on November 16 for a stipulated term of 16 years in prison. The victim is his former stepdaughter.
Over 20 members of Bikers Against Child Abuse as well as other friends wearing "Loved, Brave Strong" were there to support Jane Doe, her mother and stepfather. DA Investigator Kyla Baxley, Victim Witness were also present for sentencing.
The prosecutor on the case is Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads. Beideman is being represented by Mr. Russ Clanton.

A Typical Psychopath. It will never be his fault, he is the victim. Hopefully the prison justice system will prevail any more fitting sentence.
