Matthew Owen just turned his papers in to run for Eureka City Council

Matthew Owen just turned in his papers to run for Eureka City Council.

As of 4:30 this afternoon, no one else had filed to run against Mr. Owen. Jon Yalcinkaya, who did take out papers, decided not to run for the seat, which is currently occupied by Councilmember Linda Atkins.

    The filing period is extended when an incumbent does not file.

    The incumbent in this case is termed out unlike Ward 4 where it may get extended if Melinda Ciarabellini does not run.


    Regardless, all that is noted in this post is that Matthew is running unopposed, as of now.
