Kade Chandler had a court hearing on October 10 to hear a motion on discovery. Due to the internet being down yesterday, that hearing was continued to this morning. The People and the defense had discussions and negotiations on offers made by each side. The attorneys met with Judge John Feeney in chambers.
The People made a final offer for a six year cap on a prison term with Chandler pleading to Count 1 & 2 and pleading to Count 3 as a misdemeanor. The case is on again at 4 p.m. today.
Count 1 Gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated; alleged victim Kendra Lewis; special allegation "personally inflicted great bodily injury."
Count 2 Gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated; alleged victim Savannah Kindred; special allegation "personally inflicted great bodily injury".
Count 3 Driving under the influence of a drug causing injury; alleged victim Bradley Thuemler; special allegation "personally inflicted great bodily injury"
Chandler has a jury trial scheduled for October 16. Offers to resolve the case were discussed during the October 10 hearing.

6 years! Do the women’s familes have any input on these pleas? I’m 100% certain I would be raging with these offers.
ReplyDeleteThe families have been present at hearings. Their lawyer was present today and yes, they will have input. Nothing is final, yet. I will be updating this after 4 p.m. today.
DeleteAny updates?
DeleteThanks John.
ReplyDeleteWhen will you have the update on whether he accepted and what exactly he is accepting?
