Andrew Rulofson arrested for selling burnt sugar as heroin and meth which was salt

(Rulofson)

(Kenyon)

Last night while most were sleeping, officers responded to the area of School Street for the report of subjects stealing mail. Upon arrival, officers contacted two subjects, Andrew Rulofson (age 23 of Fortuna) and Summer Kenyon (age 27 of Crescent City). Both subjects were ultimately arrested.

Rulofson was arrested for providing a false name to law enforcement, possession of imitation narcotics with the intent to sell (his heroin was simply burnt sugar coated with vinegar and his methamphetamine... salt) and possession of stolen property. Kenyon was arrested for possession of stolen property.

If you have recently purchased methamphetamine or heroin in the Fortuna area it may be imitation narcotics. Please bring to the Fortuna Police Department; it will be tested for free. If you're not comfortable coming to us, an officer will be glad to come to you and test your narcotics in the privacy of your home upon request. Please spread the word! We’re available 24/7/365.

As far as the stolen mail… we are hopeful that Rulofson and Kenyon were just taking the mail to pay the bills for our great citizens, unfortunately, we messed that up and will be bringing your bills back to you today.

  1. Excellent awareness by the residents, and a great response by Fortuna's police officers.
