California GOP Jim Brulte speaks the truth about why Republicans lose elections

In a Politico article, Jim Brulte is quoted as saying "he‘s repeatedly warned that the party’s overwhelmingly white and male candidates that they must  'figure out how we get votes from people who don’t look like you.’"

But he said those warnings about the changing political and ethnic landscape have gone unheeded. Brulte did not blame voting irregularities for the recent election loss.

I remember hearing Brulte at a local GOP event  a few years ago. I was a registered Republican, at that time. Not only did Brulte speak about reaching out to Californians beyond the white, male GOP stereotype, he represented a moderate GOP.

The Dana Rohrabacher GOP got swept by a blue tsunami and the Republicans need to look in the mirror. I had Republicans telling me they were going to vote for Gavin Newsom because they didn't like John Cox. That is only one part of the problem.

Brulte is correct about the tone deaf GOP.  They don't listen locally either. Especially those with the money.

The people with the money continue to invest in failing ideas, support fake conservatives, allow the same failed campaign strategists to insert themselves in every campaign. How did that investment pay off for you in the local elections since 2010?

Those conservatives who didn't listen for years statewide or locally can enjoy the consequences. To certain local conservatives I see around town, you can walk around grumpy and stare at me all you want for speaking the truth about the GOP or your role in Humboldt. Own the losses and continue being in denial.
